Where We Started – Process Recap
A listening process preceded the search process. Throughout July 2019, Vice Rector Jimmy Hazel and Faculty Senate Chair Shannon Davis – the eventual co-chairs of the search committee – joined Rector Tom Davis for a series of four listening sessions on Mason’s three Virginia campuses. They gathered input from faculty and staff about the makeup of the search committee, the search process, and the characteristics desired in the next Mason president. A fifth listening session, for students, was held at the start of the fall semester.
